One Opportunity to a Growing Tradition
Every farm has a story and ours began with a simple opportunity.
In 1992, Greg first stepped onto the farm at Balderston Produce. What started as a chance visit quickly turned into something more, as he found himself drawn to the work, the lan and the community. Over time, that passion grew into a lifelong commitment to farming.
By 2003, the Mackenzie family took ownership of the farm, continuing its legacy while building something new. They expanded production, supplying local restaurants and markets, and steadily grew the business into what it is today.
In 2009, they purchased the land where the farm now stands and began evolving beyond traditional farming. What started as a simple roadside setup soon transformed into a destination. By 2017, they introduced their first small maze and sunflower fields to test community interest and the response was clear.
Since then, Mackenzie’s has continued to grow:
- A full cornmaze experience
- The iconic blue bus and family activities
- A commercial kitchen for farm-made goods
- Expanded crops to include strawberries, raspberries, and hanging baskets
- A fun farmyard built for kids and families
Today, Mackenzie’s is proud to host school groups, families, and visitors from across PEI—creating a place where agriculture, community and fun come together.
